Operationsplan - Belisarius

The Reich has conquered Europe, and Directive #1 has been satisfied. The Allies have no hope of freeing occupied territories under our control, so we have "won" the game in that sense. We can rest on our laurels until the game ends (if it does), admiring the scope of our exploits over the past 11 years. Our battle-hardened landsers can sit back and relax; the legendary panzers can be mothballed; the war machine repurposed to produce consumer goods for our massive population.

Right?

Recall that this account is called "Conquering the World as Germany", not "Conquering Europe"! What have we if not our ambition for assuming the title of the greatest empire the world has ever seen? What is a "world conquest" if we leave an entire hemisphere to the Allies?

Target: America

With that in mind, High Command has conceived Operation Belisarius, named after the legendary Byzantine general. We plan for two phases, the first being the establishment of beachhead and the second being a split-breakout.

The current situation in the western Atlantic is favorable for a naval invasion in the Labrador/St. Lawrence area, with the Kriegsmarine having naval superiority:

The plan is as follows: marines will capture the island of Newfoundland, which is lightly defended. That island will be used as a jumping-off point for two subsequent landings, one to the north in Labrador and one to the southwest in Nova Scotia. We land two panzer groups in Labrador with Army Group North, and strike westward to establish a front running in a southeasterly direction, just east of Ottawa. Army Group South will have a short way to go to reach this line and will only have infantry at its disposal (initially).

Once the forward line has been established, we split into three separate army groups. Each group will be responsible for a general advance along a separate axis, although we again pursue the destruction of American armies rather than cities. It's likely that we will have to wait quite a while before we can start phase 2, because the northeastern Canadian regions we plan to use as a base of operations are devoid of both naval bases and infrastructure. Time will be needed to allow the improvement of these facilities to support operations on the scale planned.
