January - Operation Belisarius
The Newfoundland operation is completed with no resistance in late November, so the marines are ready to move again on Nova Scotia in early January. An initially promising landing quickly goes south, however, as it becomes clear the marines cannot quickly dislodge the American defenders. They know we will be attacking the harbor, as we cannot supply anything without it, so they have built a strong defense there.
Compounding our problems is the strong American air presence in the northeast coastal areas. The invasion here must proceed without friendly air cover, and enemy bombers harrass both units on the ground and the transports required to ferry them back home (if necessary).

A heated battle is ongoing in the skies over northeastern Canada, as we possess large enough air bases in the region to challenge American control of the skies. The Luftwaffe is massive and more than capable of taking on the US Air Force; it is only a question of securing enough places to put these planes.
